Glad to hear it's finally coming together. A couple of last minute snaffu's is common., but you'll be out catching them fish in no time. If I remember right, them trout like the cold water, though our older joints and bones don't so much. enjoy it when you can, I'm sure they'll get it finished soon.

The motor is now installed. The thing is a beast. It weighs in at 105 pounds. I played with it for about an hour today. The motor is quiet as a church mouse. One thing I am not quite sure of is the remote display. If you look at the screen straight on it is difficult to read. Tilt it to a slight angle and presentation is sharp. I got to thinking about that when I got back home and was wondering did the display have a protective film over it. It wasn’t obvious to me that it did but I’ll check on that next trip over. The remote is easy to navigate through, but it is nothing at all like the old remotes. Was checking out the manual stow procedure in case it will not automatically stow and while I did not do the procedure it is a piece of cake. Pull up a latch and remove a pin and pull down to the cradle. Having said that this thing is obviously very heavy. Boat should be done ready for pickup on Friday but I’ll probably not get until late next week as I’m heading out for a train ride. As soon as I return I will put it on the water and test all the features out.

    Regards

    That’s a beast of a trolling motor.
Why do you need the outboard ?
Look forward to hearing about your first trip !

You need to do a video of your train ride .
I think it would be interesting.
My wife and I have thought of doing a train ride vacation.

Pick it up Friday after my short vacation. Yeah I know, I been on vacation for a long time. LOL. Pics are not too good but you get the idea. Played around a lot more with the Quest motor today. While I have not been able to check out the GPS features on this motor I am more than impressed with the mechanical changes they made. Might even head straight to Bald Knob Lake after I pick it up, those shell cracker are calling my name LOL. It’s been too long since I’ve been able to seriously fish and to be able to properly access waters.

Awesome. Very exciting. I think I’d have to get it wet the day I picked it up even if it was a short trip.
