“The drug is the tug”! I like that, and when all is said and done I think that’s it. Good post.

I started thinking and the first thing I told him was the fish are deeper then we’ve been fishing, I casted again and waited for the little roadrunner to sink before reeling and bam a little bass (still much bigger than what he’s been seeing in that spot) he was pumped and so excited! However we were running late for something and had to leave, next weekend we are gonna fish that spot deeper and he wants his own roadrunner lol.

So when I had to sell my boat my father in law actually bought it from me, he lost their camp in ida and decided they won’t rebuild it. So long story short he told me to go get the boat and use it like I want (he doesn’t like seeing it just sit). He knows I don’t like borrowing stuff so he made it clear that it’s on loan to his grandson lol.

Well my Son and I picked up the boat last night from my father n law, it’s been laid up for a while so doing the typical maintenance and knocking the dust off. She’s not the nicest or the fastest but she’s always been a solid reliable boat.

That is a great gift, loaner or not. I wish I was closer to you to help you guys tune it up. The smile on a kid fishing, is worth a million dollars.

That’s plenty of boat. Just needs some fresh slime on it.

That looks like a great boat to fish from. I'm sure you're going to have a great time; be sure to post some pics of fish from your first trip out together.
    Congrats!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Everything happens for a reason, being forced to fish from the bank really helped him to learn casting, deal with snags, hook management and etc those were things he always struggled with in the boat and my attention was always on the trolling motor or other distractions. Now he’s got the basics down and has fish fever I think he will enjoy fishing from the boat a lot more.

    Thanks
