to each his own is my thoughts on the subject .....

I've drank Your Tea my friend and like it. Pouring all my jigs with smaller hooks now as well as fishing with the small ones made for winter. I get hung up less too. Good "Gold" found in your comments many of your posts back.

thanks for the kind words , it is totally my intention to help others enjoy crappie ketchn , about 99% of what I post is the real deal , it isn't like everyone out there is a tourney person just looking for 7 big fish , this is a fact .....

Huge fan of the tiny jigs. Smaller hooks have thinner wire than big ones so they penetrate easier and don't tear big holes in fish like bigger hooks do. Means less lip rippin and more ketchn.

they ketch MONSTER trout on size 22 flies all the time , just saying ......
a crappie isnt likely to "chew" you off and very likely to take a tiny jig deeper inside the mouth where there is a much better likelihood of a direct connect with some bone matter .....

Might have taken a texas rigged soft plastic some bass fisherman was throwing and it turned out to be too much of a hookset for it.

I caught my lifetime best crappie with a 4" Stanley Halecraw texas rigged. Thought I was fighting a great bass until I saw that it was a crappie and about fainted
