    Default Mini lures galore...

Just received this batch of lures today and want to shout out to Gillchaser for the constant sharing of his success outing with these fine looking mini spinners. The itsy lure and the dime serve as point of reference. Name: 20230808_152741.jpg

Thanks guys , I wish you all great fishing with the tiny micro spinners .
As I said before , they are tiny and the hardest part of fishing them is finding the right line and rod that will cast them the farthest.
I caught 36 in about three hours today , most were small fish , but a couple of nice shellcrackers and a nice redbreast were among them .

You’re a good man Chaser! Nice of you to share. I got some of those spinners myself, they arrived today.

Tim , I went back to my 2# test P-line to get a few extra feet of distance using these tiny spinners.
I gave braid a couple of weeks , but it just didn’t feel right and I wasn’t getting the distance I can with 2# P-line .
Thinking of trying some thinner mono if I can find some .
    I have a spool of Varivas 2.3# Esterline I may give a try .
I’m also experimenting with different swivels I tie about a foot above the spinners .

Also , I want to add, the fly on the standard spinners come apart after a few fish , I just clip off whatever comes loose .
The one I used today to catch 36 fish on was about naked when I finished fishing . I think a bare hook will work .

How thin is enough, Gill? How about one of these? A while back I posted a test result and it didn't break on a 16oz bottle of water. Unconventional method but according to our member Randy, AKA Alphahawk, most American mono usually break at higher than test strength. It's diameter at 0.105mm, which is a little thicker than .004 inches. Hope you can find some and give it a whirl. Cheers!

Chaser, throwing those little spinners in your shoes I would run what worked best. I haven’t tied one on (that’s a lie but it’s been a while) to try but I already know that there’s only one rod I have that will come close to making a decent cast with them. Also, please post a pic of the spinners you use next to one of the spinners so I know what to use for weight.

LV, that was why I used Nanofil for so long. It was supposed to be .001 but I never measured it. It would cast the lightest lure the furthest but broke for no apparent reason. I’ve often looked at the line in the picture but never tried it. I’m kinda anxious to hear how it works for you.
