I'm still using Humminbird 999HD SI units and love them. With such low resolution maps the GPS side works so fast. My Garmins 1042, 942, 93HDxsv, you drift past your spot before the map shows you arrived.

When shooting a marina I try to scan both sides of the slip at one time to cover water more quickly. I can't decide weather I want Mega 360 or some sort of live sonar next
Nice. That’s one of the reasons I am interested in the Si, the marina fishing.

I just pull up…toss out a buoy and start fishing. Just ordered a new boat today and first item on the list is a Helix 10 Mega si. I will use the 2d sonar to make a pass over the grate as it will tell me the depth of the crappie.

My gosh… those images are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. Those beds show up so well. That sells it for me right there. I love fishing for bluegill almost as much as crappie. This looks like a game changer.

Not all Marinas are created equally. Lots of u productive boats. Look for house boats that have lights pointing at the water, fishing poles, minnow buckets. Those will usually have some fish holding structure dropped to the bottom. Pontoons are another hot spot. Look for ones that haven't moved in a while. Spider webs are a good sign. Scan those for fish high up between the tubes.

Are those actually pics from your own unit? Or is it from Humminbird? If they are your own I think I have to take another look at HB, my Lowrance is nothing like that. Maybe I need to learn a bit more about the adjustments.

Humminbirds you can record everything to a SIM card to play back on your computer at home. Even the 999's give a great picture as long as your settings match your speed and you are not using a Etec engine (terrible alternator interference). Using HumViewer you can mark anything interesting, right-click a spot and Google Earth will open up and zoom the exact spot in. I side scan new areas while recording, play it back at home at 10x the speed marking everything interesting, then upload all the new waypoints back into all the units I have. Doing this I have marked over 1500 trees, stumps, ledges, trash piles, etc. I will note this, the waypoints generated by a Humminbird transferred to a Garmin only get you in the ball bark. The new Crappie Chaser is all Garmin so I usually have to make a quick side scan pass on the initial approach to pinpoint the spot before getting right on top using 2D Sonar A-Scope for a precision waypoint.

Those are from my unit. Had hundreds more but deleted most to free up space on my phone.

One image is of the dead lock…a lock no longer in use…. below Nickajack Dam. The other is an image of the live lock discharge below Nickajack. They hold lots of fish.
