    Default Why the marks?

Last week - ten days I’ve been landing crappie with these marks? Name: IMG_7511.jpg

Does it mean this fish has spawned? Or perhaps attacked by another predatory fish?

Thanks Ketchn. I spent 7-8 hours on the water last Saturday. Caught several with such wounds. Something has been getting them. I do see cormorants on the lake.

I seen that some too. I was figuring from spawn but not exactly sure what caused them. Some had marks both sides.
