    Default Me time

After being around the house between my health issues and being here for Cajunlady, (my better half), through her heart surgery and recovery, for better than a year, it was time I got out and got some line wet.
I went to one spot on Stockton, but I think every bank fisherman in the area had the same notion. Not wanting to stand shoulder to shoulder to crappie fish, I headed for other points...
I wound up at fellows lake. It's a water shed lake for the city of Sringfield, Mo. Daylight was diminishing so I cast out to see if I could entice something to come play. Shad were busting the top, but were out of my casting range. I was however able to get two to come Plat with me...a nice 12 7/8" crappie and it's cousin a nice 11"er. For an other hour and a half it was mostly watching the shad...Those are pics 1 and2. Really enjoyed the time even with just the two.
I got up early this morning with cramps in my back, like 2:30am...took some Goody's powder to help and started some coffee. By 5:00,I was doing pretty good and about 8:00 I was off for the 15 mile or so drive to the spot I was at yesterday. By 11:Obam The fish had quit bitting, even though I stayed for another hour. At 12 noon I brought another 5 niceness home. Really felt good to be back at the lake, and feel he thump. Something about it makes the heart beat a little better...I hope you all had a great Saturday what ever it is/was you did.
I also hope everyone of the Crappie.Com family has a Wonderful, Joyous Easter Sunday, and remember what the day is all about...bye for now everybody!!!...Name: 20230407_151107.jpg

Awesome Eric. So glad you were able to get out and feel some thumps. I know it’s been a while for you. Hope you’re feeling better and can get back out there again soon.

I don't think I ever saw a Crappie without any spots. Thanks for posting the second picture, a first for me.

rojoguio, it came up from the deep. The water temp today was barely 49*. Thats my only explanation. In this portion of the lake it goes from the shoreline right down to 20 foot with it bottoming out at 30' deep about 20' from shore.
A couple two or three years ago a new Managment company took it over, and they put something in the water to kill ALL the weeds. Since they did that, the fish wont hit anything except natural colored lures or minnows.
The very first fish I caught after moving here to Missouri was caught just across the road from where I caught these crappie. the two sides are connected via a big double sided square duct under the road, and considered to be the same lake.
