It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

A couple two or three years ago a new Managment company took it over, and they put something in the water to kill ALL the weeds. Since they did that, the fish wont hit anything except natural colored lures or minnows.
The very first fish I caught after moving here to Missouri was caught just across the road from where I caught these crappie. the two sides are connected via a big double sided square duct under the road, and considered to be the same lake.
On Ross Barnett the management has been using some kind of weed killer for a invasive weed and I know what you're saying. On the North end of the Rez where I spend most of my time it totally changed the way I fish. They kill most of the Alligator grass patches spraying for the other stuff. I like to fish thru the Alligator grass, its like fishing under a dock.

I got back out this evening for just about 40 minutes before dark set in. I'm really starting to like that corner near the causeway. Relatively short walk from the vehicle too. Only took my pole a couple jigs, and a bucket. Caught four, and threw one back to grow up a bit. It was only 4" long...the others were 10.25, 10.5 and 11.25.Name: 20230410_203528.jpg

Thank you. I would have been back at it again today, except for an eye appointment with my regular optometrist. And like always, she dilated my eyes. I'm not sure why, but it takes forever to be able to see right after. I have a hard time with bright light as it is, but their squirrely temporary shades and my regular sun glasses got me home, but a massive headache kept me home. I'll be good for an early morning foray to the lake though...
And as I thought, New glasses will be here in about a week.
