    Default I Got the Blues

Water temperature fell nearly 10 degrees in a week !
Windy as heck during this period of inclement weather conditions !
Had to run a generator for 36 hours a few weeks ago due to all the torn up power lines around us from the weather !
It is giving me the Blues I tell ya ......
So what do you do I ask ya ?
Just go out there and give them the Blues right BACK !
In this episode of Ketchn it Was FOR SURE ALL ABOUT THE BLUES !
If you didn't drop blue you didn't ketch , pretty simple program.
First 9 out of 10 in the box all bit the SAME blue jig , and a few throwbacks as well.
57 degree water temp., 20 feet of water , south wind 10 to 15 mph , slightly cloudy and chilly outside . Fish were in a cove on a flat under bait and hugging the bottom. hold it REALLY still about 6 inches off the bottom and KABOOM !
Could it have been the crappie.com ballcap, hoodie and t-shirt I wore you ask ?
possibly yes ,but having the Blues sure made me more confident in this scenario.
We stopped short of a double limit as the conditions wind wise became just more than we wanted to deal with , it beats a fella down vertical jigging in whitecaps for sure .
Fish ran on the no measure side most of the time and lots of 12 and 13 inch fish were to be had , buddy gave me all of them this trip except for a 3 or so for his dinner and home I went with a BUNCH of filets!
Ate a couple of them for dinner we did and as always ....
    KABOOM is the word ya"ll
p.s. and one drum and one yellow cat too .....

I only have those 2 , but let me just say this about that, according to "scientific" studies the color MOST visible to a crappie is blue ? go figure ,and we never ketch diddly on blue .....until we did ....lol

Blue usually works pretty good for us but we always have it mixed with other colors. White, chartreuse, etc...

What makes you use a color that you have never caught diddly on ? Especially on a tough bite .

Simplicity, it was already tied on from a night bite elsewhere a few days ago and upon the first pitch KABOOM and why change when your bud and your rods with other color jigs ain’t getting it done ….

That lake is really odd at times too , some days certain colors are a must or you aren’t getting bit
Last year a few times it was black
    Some visits it’s orange
Seen it be pink a few times as well
    And plain white too
Highly variable preferences on that lake
Even seen one trip where it was purple ….go figure right
