I have a bunch of my grandkids that want to go fishing and I am looking for a place near Fort Worth to fish off the bank. I don't have a boat and I'm on a fixed income so I can't afford much. For the last few years everywhere I find it's the same story. "They were biting yesterday" Due to health and a fixed income, I don't have a chance to fish often like I once did so it is hard to keep up with the pattern. They should be moving in to spawn and I would love to see these kids catch some fish and if anyone knows a place we can go I would appreciate it very much.
Rocky creek park , but it’s a long walk , within the next 2 weeks , longhorn park , the cove south of the boat ramp as well , both on Benbrook.
Weatherford fishing house and rocks along the sidewalk , now and in the near future.
Mineral wells state park , the fishing docks real soon too.
Lake Arlington dock by the boat ramps .
The crappie spawn is often, hit it big or miss by a mile , that’s a fact …..just saying
Some of the private HOA lakes are full of slabs , some are going shallow now too ….
Lake worth casino beach courtesy dock , mix of fish .
About any rip rap on any local lake currently as well.
No spot is totally on fire currently every day, the fronts change the bite daily
2 more weeks should change that report dramatically….![]()

BuckeyeCrappie thanked you for this post
Some good ideas above. You might also try Britton Park on Joe Pool Lake. I've never fished it but it's a pretty shallow area so they will probably be in there soon. Also, it's free and plenty of bank access.
If I remember right they go in that area about mid April, mostly males is what I was told in Britton park , never been there myself
