Sure they work. I've done this several times. You can also use just one or two like flash along with other material like hackle, etc..

I just saw an old jig pic where someone had done that, and I had some old spinnerbaits that I though about scavenging the skirts off of, I just didn't know if they would be effective?

Just look at my pic on this post . I love the stuff. Use it for spider legs on tiny jigs to a full blow tail and other things in between.

I too use old skirts and buy the new ones when a color gets my eye. Tying with them can be a pain if you’re heavy handed like me. It took me a while to learn to lock them in and then back off the tension as I move back to keep them from flaring out too much. Trees get em more than anything else, they’re tough.

I have alot of silicone legs I have purchased off EBay over the years. There use to be a guy in Michigan who sold them for a great price. I think I have ever color he ever sold.
