The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass alongflymoron thanked you for this post
My wife is a member, and was actually born in South Dakota, but was only there a short time. That counts still though, right!

That’s a tough one. No state forum here on CCom, maybe a Google of outdoor shops in SD and then a call or two to see if there are any sites up there. Good luck with your search.

If there's some demand, I can create a forum. All I'd need is some interest, and a moderator for it. That's essentially how every forum on here was founded.

I'm not from there but have pheasant hunted just east of Chamberlain a couple of times. One year a couple of guys from our group hired a guide to walleye fish the Missouri River out of Chamberlain and caught some walleye and if I remember right a few yellow perch. Not sure if that helps but it's the best I have.
My wife was born and raised in the Sioux Falls area. I have been wanting to relocate there for years and have been researching which area to retire in. I have a SD lake maps book that has helped to narrow things down. Let me know what area you will be in, and I will check what lakes are in in that vicinity.

That sounds like an exciting family trip, especially with a senior graduating and an avid fisher among you! If you're considering a graduating gift for your senior, perhaps something related to their love for fishing could add a personal touch to the celebration. Whether it's new fishing gear, a guidebook for the destination, or a customized fishing experience, it could make their graduation even more special.
Safe travels,
Flymoron!

I hear it's a hidden gem for crappie, smallmouth as well as these giants!
