They got me with the glitter ones too, bought red glitter thinking that might work good. Glitter falls off and leaves you with a no-fish pink nibble on the first cast.
So now i have a jar of those in the boat that the fish refuse to eat as well as the two jars of pink that i have been trying to use up for 5 years.

If the fish won't eat them maybe you could use them as a type of chum to draw them in to see what it is.
At least you'd be getting rid of them instead of hauling them around.
