Back when I had a bass boat, this used to be my go to lure with 4 pound line and a long ultralight spinning rod. I wasn’t targeting anything in particular, but I would catch a lot of bass(some large ones too) crappie, blue gill, redear and the occasional channel cat. I would really got some strange looks and chuckles LOL, but I really enjoyed it.

I have used them years ago, only caught bass. Slabs in my high pressure lake follow all baits doing a thorough investigation before they commit

I used them regularly when I bass fished. I have a small box full around here gathering dust…LOL

I use beetle spins and they work great. I prefer teh smaller versions.

I have used these years ago when I fish northern states for northern pike. They would pound them!

I’ve used them and while they do well, the bigger ones work best for me during prespawn and spawn time. The thump of the bigger blade on the 1/8 oz version is the trick, I believe. Beetle spins are a standard in 1/32 and 1/16 and they’re always in my spread when I troll.

And don’t forget the black ones, maybe a couple of strands of chartreuse in the skirt.

Farm pond crappie will chase one down and smash it like a bass , seen them leave a wake chasing a tiny spinner bait before . One even actually jumped out of the water to smash the spinner bait !

I have used them, but not much success. I prefer buying small gold spinners and rigging a jig head and tale like a beetle spin. Probably my over all best method. Esp. in spring shallow fishing.
