    Default Taylorsville

Loaded up this morning and knew the lake was up BUT didn’t expect that much trash.
Settlers Trace closed so I drove over to Possum Ridge.
So much trash I just turned around and came home. I could have dealt with the chocolate milk water color but it was the worst debris I had ever seen on the lake.
    Gonna be a while guys.
Just posted so others wouldn’t make the drive for nothing.

Chuck, after reading your post I checked the water level at T-ville on the COE site and it said the lake was 547 (Summer Pool) ... but then I noticed the date was 1/3 .... checked it again, just a second ago, and now it's reading 557 for 1/4/23

I can tell you from experience that anytime the lake jumps 3-4ft in a day, there's gonna be trash ... but TEN FEET in a day and it's gonna be a total trashpile.

But, yeah ... thanks for the heads up for anyone that had a itch to give it a shot.

FWIW ... the COE site usually has the latest levels posted early in the morning. Not sure why it wasn't updated until after 1PM. Another site I also look at, that updates several times a day, is ..... Lake Levels in Kentucky, United States

CP, I have fished out of Possum before when Settlers was closed because of high water.
I should have snapped a photo this morning.

LOL !! Yeah, I've seen it worse. Went one time and turned around at Settler's because the wind was blowing all the big stuff right up on the ramp. Went to Possum Ridge ramp and only had to deal with a lot of little stuff & trash.

No credit to me for that picture. It was taken by my fishing buddy, Carl (cjpar3). There are a couple more pics, but that one tells the story.

I can’t remember seeing as much rain in a day as I did Monday night/Tuesday morning. The creeks around here got way up. I am hoping they draw it down by Saturday or I’ll have to get out somewhere else.

Yep, a little over 2.5" of rain in one day will do that to T-ville. Last year at this same time it went up to 557 and it took them 4days to get it back down to 549, only to have it jump back up to nearly 557 again a few days later. Then it took them about 2weeks to get it back down to Winter Pool.

Sorry to say, but I think you'd be better off heading somewhere else. Not to mention, the forecast for T-ville area is rain ... 30% Sat morning & 40% for Sunday. But, who knows what will actually happen ... you know how inaccurate the weather guesstimators can be !!

Definitely guesstimators! Taylorsville is just so convenient for me coming from Bardstown and my cousin from Louisville when he wants to join in. I imagine it looks like a forest’s worth floating around out the right now!

Come to think of it I remember that. I about gave myself a hernia pulling a log off Settlers so the whole ramp could be utilized.
