    Default Wheeler Lake


    Fished for 6 hours caught 20. One didn't measure. Water was 53 and fairly clear. Best bait was a BG electric chicken on a 1/32. Caught under a cork about 2ft deep on structure and at all depths of water. Some of the smaller fish had small roe. I'm guessing that's real roe that they'll keep till early March. I'm getting better at keeping fish...trying to subsidize the grocery bill.Name:  20230101_161359.jpg

    Great looking mess of fish. Funny not to see at least one or two whites in a mess like that from Wheeler. Those will eat well for sure. Congrats

    I thought the same thing. Actually caught a stripe nose that was so white it looked like a white crappie. Most of those fish had been really deep till they cam up to feed. After an hour that fish showed its colors as well
