Thread: Wire grub holder that swings into the lure doing no damage

Never liked the barb collars on jigs nor wire spikes. Taking off a soft plastic bait without damaging and shortening the life of it is inevitable. My grub grip prevents tha.


24g coated, floral-arrangement wire is sold everywhere as are no-collar jigs.

Using wire cutters cut a length of wire as shown:


The length of right side of the wire should be as shown and wrapped tightly once around with needle nost pliers.


Cut one end short and press it with the pliers close.


Bend the remaining wire into an L shape:


Thread your lure up the hook shaft and swing the grip into place:




The wire never affects the bite:
