Livescope question
Can you use livescope as a searching tool also, while running you big motor, of course at a idle speed using your pole in the water to search for crappie. Lots of variables here, so just asking. Anyone do this?

Even on TM speed 5 or 6, my LS pole vibrates and wants to move back from water pushing it- and I have a very sturdy mount. I wouldn't do it with your main motor at all.

The cone angle is so narrow that I don't think it would be very effective as a scanning tool.

I sometimes search open water for roaming fish at 60-70 feet.
Ultrex cranked up on 10.

Wouldn’t recommend this to many.
Brakes on rear is helpful and mine will be installed soon. Just been lazy.
My transducer is mounted parallel with my trolling motor shaft on a Turret.

I routinely run the trolling motor on max speed with livescope in forward facing and set to look out about 55 ft. I have my partner sweep with it looking for structure or fish. Found alot of single laydowns with fish on them the last couple weeks doing that .

So it can be done, but not many seem to use it that way.
Does anyone here run in FORWARD viewing mode? I think that is the setting for searching, isn't it?

With my bicycle repair stand that i have my pole in i did tighten it up to test to see how it held with the motor idling just in case & it doesn't move so
I'm sure i could search in forward or perspective mode either one. I always search with side imaging though so never really tried it with livescope but may try it this weekend if i get to go just to see how i like it.
