Probably so but the 15lb was looking a little rough so i tried some new 40lb. May end up going back to 15 but had to try it to see for myself.

Well I'm a believer in Pappy's Wisdom but past that - the nasty stuff I fish in, I just live with the problems fishing with Braid. I'm going to break 3000 fish this year and a big part is fishing with Braid, Booming Up with aggression, so the fish doesn't wrap around a limb. If I take care in the presentation and really never set the hook with braid, I just lift up the pole while pulling the slack back with my off hand works well. Just moving the rod tip around carelessly with the wind blowing will rap me most times. Friday I was pulling them out of a big old dead pine tree, one right after the other, then noticed a slight movement below my trolling motor. So after refocusing my eyes to the movement I realized one of the biggest Copperheads I have ever seen in the Swamp was watching me haul the Crappie up.

Are you casting with 5-7 ft rods or using long pole 12ft+ ?
I couldn’t quite get the 40 power pro to work . I ran across some 65 lb . strike king tour grade in high vis yellow. I use 6-10 lb mono. Alberto knot. It works

Just for my 13 ft. acc crappie stix i vertical jig with. I pitch it a little at times for more distance though. The 15 lb. looked pretty rough & had got bad limp so figured it was worth a try atleast. I have one of the cheap 10-foot black widows that i cast with & don't have any problems with it so i'll see what happens.

And the lighter the braid, the easier it wraps in the wind. I use two pound and it has a mind of its own. You’ll learn how to manage the rod tip to keep it to a minimum. I don’t think you’ll ever learn how to eliminate it, just nature of the beast.

I use braid on my bass tube rod, a rig rods & a few braid to leader setups & never had this problem on them but this is a spinning rod so i must be doing something different.

Could possibly be the method of casting, weights of the lures, or simply the difference in mechanics of the spinning vs baitcast reels.
