Thread: Town pond 10-06-22

I fished the Town Pond this morning for a couple of hours.
Weather was perfect , sunny, 55 degrees when I arrived around nine this morning around 70 when I left at 11 . With an occasional light breeze .
A nice fall morning.
I took my 6’ St Croix Premier ps60ulf paired with a Daiwa Legalis LT 1000S , loaded with 2# P-line Crystal Clear line .
I’m really liking this line . This reel I pulled from my SC Avid Panfish to try on a different rod , to see if I would get the same casting distance. And I did .
With a 1/64 jighead and a Bobby Garland Itty Bitty SwimR body I’m getting a consistent 60 feet .
I started off with an electric chicken BG IB SwimR and caught a decent redear on the second or third cast . A good start .
I ended up catching eight gills and one largemouth that bit on the float n fly using the same jigs .
I’ll feature the LM as my “ Fish of the Day” . But will highlight my bigger gills here .
