Choose between two boats
Hey guys, I have two boats that I’m looking at. Both are around the same price. One is a 1999 Javelin Renegade 18’ with an Evinrude 150 Ficht on it, and the other is a 1996 Astro 18’ with a Mariner 150. If you have had either boat and or motor I sure could use some info on them.

I don't mean to say anything bad about anyone's equipment. In my experience if it says FICHT on it turn away from it and run. They were a good concept with a bad design. You have to do what is best for you and maybe you would be getting a good motor. Before you buy do a quick google search.

I should say if the ficht is a newer engine than the boat, I think after 2002 they had some of the problems worked out. The problem was that the earlier years had such a bad reputation that no one would touch them.
