    Default Crazy Saturday

I wanted to chase green sunfish at one of the local water reservoirs that has riprap with my Little Tarkara rod , but when I arrived , it had people too . Bunches of them .
Guess the break in the rain this morning and the threat for the next few days brought everybody out .
So, I headed to my creek spot at the Mill .
When I got there the water was chocolate milk and way too high and fast .
It’s a twenty five minute drive back to the town pond , but I wanted to get at least an hour in .
When I arrived at the pond , it too was busy with folks out for a walk or bike ride . But nobody was fishing. Water level was still low .
I started out at the bridge as I usually do and there was a group of five women enjoying feeding the turtles and the fish .
I managed one small gill before giving up and heading to the dam where I haven’t done much good lately , but at least they’re not being fed .
Working the shoreline with a size 12 woolybooger, I finally hooked into a decent bluegill that gave a pretty good fight on the 6’ ultralight wand .
My time was about up , so I thought I’d give the bridge another shot before leaving .
About my fifth cast I hooked into a nice bluegill , over 9” .
I decided to work the shoreline to my right and halfway up I hooked a small LM about 7-8” long .
He was a disappointment, no only did he not put up as much of a fight as even the smaller bluegill, but he flopped off on the rocks , and three flops later , back into the water .
Crazy morning, but I caught four . Better than watching TV .

Thanks, that last one was fun on the little pole !
    Yes they can .
    I wouldn’t even try for a long time .
I think weekends have gotten worse since school started back .

I practically gave up on one pond due to constantly running into folks feeding ducks and geese. Great job on the last gill! Thumb up!

Glad you found a few, even though you were covered up in folks. I’m with Moon on the last pic. Nice fish that gave you what for.

It’s the truth. My local state park is ridiculous on the weekends. PFOS warnings and they jump in no matter what the rangers say, and it is posted no swimming.
