    Default Telescoping Rods

Does anyone here have any experience with telescoping rods?

Their utility was really highlighted on my trip to Europe, where almost everyone has a telescoping rod, as I could just put it in a little gear bag. The one I got is a light, not ultralight rod, but given my use of ultralight lures, if anyone has experience with a telescoping ultralight, it would be great to hear some reviews.

I have two. They’re long rods for surf fishing. Love ‘em. Don’t own any UL telescoping, but would definitely buy one.

Interesting fact: years ago, Bass Pro put out a series of crappie rods that were telescopic. (Don’t remember what they were called, but they had Wally Marshall’s name on them.) I bought the 12-footer.

I wish I could find one, they're just so convenient. I can fit a 6 footer in my backpack easily.

Yep, super convenient. My 12-14’ surf rods collapse down to about 3’.

Not sure why they haven’t caught on here in the US. I guess everybody wants to be like the “bass pros” with their 7’ one-piece rods. LOL

I found some for trolling, but none for casting from shore. Thanks for the help, I'll get started searching for bass pro rods.

I bought that telescopic BP rod about twenty years ago. Haven’t seen one since.

    Good luck, though!

Found a bass rod. And a telescoping flag pole lol. If I wasn't leaving Europe soon I'd check the local stores, but everything is closed on Sundays, and then I don't have much more time.

Check out Tenkara rods. Also go to the Panfish, Bream, Brim forum on here, scroll to top of page and select All Things Ultralight and ask your question there. Good Luck
