What Ketchn said got me thinking. Brighter tail works better for him, and me too in a lot of circumstances. However, I use some of Bobby garlands Itty Bitty slab slayers in iced tea with lemon, which is the opposite. Yellow body with a transparent iced tea colored tail that the shellcracker really like, sometimes. Point is, keep options in the box. The days when the yellow body works they don’t touch the darker bodies with light tails. All this is relevant to where I live but is also good food for thought.

All good advice, but don't forget the reflective-type glitter, tinsel, and/or silver or gold underspin for a touch of flash at times either.
I've certainly seen a whole lot of times when some subtle glitter or reflection is what triggers the bite too.
