500!
Well it is a good thing that I was at 498. On my first cast I hooked up and thought wow, this is going to be too easy. It was not,I caught number 499 after all of 30 fruitless casts. Repositioned the boat several times before catching number 500. Didn't catch another crappie period. Finished the night off with this green carp and that's my report. Attachment 429283

not my thing , but you could likely stay on those fish "drifting" , sounds like they possibly suspend in open water there . tandem rods and a slow drift at the right depth might be magic , just saying
