What is a factory warranty worth?
Found a Garmin unit on ebay with a 300 lower price tag than retail. No warranty though. Seller says unit is new but Garmin will not warranty ebay sold product. I contend if its new its new, not previously registered. The warranty should still be in place. Take a chance on it or pass. 300.00 is 300.00 now more than it was 6 months ago.

I've gone the used route on many things over the years, and I have come to the conclusion that new is the only way to go. Too many bad experiences to outweigh the savings. If money is an issue, save up until you can afford what you want.
