    Default Redbreast City!

Fishing out of the SS Trout Magnet today. Plenty of scattered fish but I was fortunate to find bedding redbreast. Caught quiet few shell cracker….8-9 inches. Had a few largemouth…..got into the crappie again but once I found the redbreast bed I soon forgot about anything else. If you have never caught redbreast sunfish it is quite a battle…they have an attitude for sure. Not to mention I think they are one of the most beautiful fish out there. Used the Abu Garcia Diplomat Extreme 62 UL Area Trout rod….2.3# test Varivas ES2 Ester line with a section of 2# test Phantom FC leader. The lure was either a Bison or Sow Bug colored Trout Magnet. Would catch a dozen or so and switch colors. In 5 hours of fishing boated 150 fish….over 100 of them were redbreast. Most of the redbreasts were 7-9 inches. Hitting it again in the a.m. Life is good and getting better!

They are some lookers, and a beautiful area to fish in too.

I'll admit I'm jealous, you are on a roll. Enjoy the good fishing while it last.

I should have added the fact they were building beds as I fished. The water was about 5 feet deep and you could not see the beds….but…..on finding the beds there were only 9 saucers carved out. I had to reorient several times and would do a re-scan. Each re-scan would show more beds being fanned out. No telling how many fish will be in there by tomorrow morning.

    Regards
