Went to a slough yesterday where I’ve been determined to catch some crappie. Used to catch a bunch there with my daddy and granddaddy when I was a kid. Well. No crappie but channel cat or there bedding. Probably caught or hung 20. Anything with chartreuse they were nailing. Hung a couple I couldn’t do anything with on 10ft pole. May go back with some minnows or nite crawlers and some heavier tackle and keep a few. Fun even if not what I was after. And was a perfect day with very little wind.

For sure. I wasn’t gonna keep anything. But I do love some catfish.

They were everywhere yesterday. But my luck they’ll be gone when I go back. Lol. Lots of fun in a yak.

I didn't think they spawned this early. Don't know why they would be so concentrated unless food of favorable conditions

I’ve never known this early either. But they were definitely spawning.
