    Default Needing some help here.

I'm new to crappie fishing. I know what a crappie jig is... but I've been asked if I'm reeling or jigging to catch crappie. I'm definitely slowly reeling which I've been catching bass. It was said that jigging typically catches more fish... can someone help explain what jigging is and the setup... how to do it..? Sorry probably 100% obvious to everyone but I honestly do not know. I just learned about the loop knot and it made all the difference in presentation.

It’s a method of presentation. Best I can describe it is like dangling a bone (bait) in front of a dogs (Crappie’s) nose in an effort to get a bite.

A good presentation this time of year is a jig under a float or bobber. A stop and go retrieve is deadly on them

Claremore Lake has a public crappie dock. Pretty sure Keystone does. Cypress Cove on Ft Gibson is where I fish most of winter. We are always happy to help newbies if you want to come down there but I’m sure all dock fisherman would be helpful. One of 14 I caught today at Belle Star on Eufaula.Name: IMG_1614.jpg
