In my opinion braid does take a little time to break in. Most of it seems stiffer until it has been fished a little and gotten softer. Guess it is much like a rope. After all it is made of fibers

With the K9 Crappie Braid I started with a fluro leader and after breaking off a few times I just tied straight to the jig. Heck, I don’t use a leader anymore. Seems to work fine even in clear water. I’ve had the Braid on so long it’s lost it bright yellow color. It’s pretty pale now. I’d probably use a leader I just can’t tie a Uni-knot good on the water.

Braid last a long time. After a couple of years I will unspool it across the yard and put it back on the reel from the other end. I have some thatbis probably 6 years old

Do you use braid or mono for dock shooting? I would think mono better for dock shooting. Might try some dock shooting what is your expierence? Glad to see you use straight braid in wylie and no leader. I might ditch leader with k9 crappie braid.Originally Posted by tackleboat

I use braid straight to the jig to shoot docks. I started with mono and quickly switched to braid. Braid allows me to shoot farther back under the docks. Also has the strength to pull the jig free if it is snagged or bring out whatever fish grabs the jig. This was about a 12 minute fight. Around a 28" fish.
Had me around the pilings on 3 seperate occasions before I got it out to open water to stay. Thought it was a large cat before I saw it. Certainly had some steam. My biggest reason for using braid is I do not like to leave hooks hung into docks where people swim.

I’ve been shooting with fluorocarbon, don’t really shoot that often but have shot with braid and haven’t saw anything negative.

Got some to Test. Spooled it up. Looks good, feels good, cast good in the yard. Just need a few bites and a water test.

The Sniping Braid is nice, didn’t have it on my best rods so didn’t use it a lot. I did catch some fish on it, felt the thump, cast great. The seeing it on sonar is hype, I couldn’t see it any better than any other braid. It is slick and maybe a little quieter in the guide than K9. If you like braid it worth trying.
