    Default Good News for Troller

Fished Norman again and had a great time with JetJockey. We went back to where I got them yesterday. Found some schools in the back of a creek and went further back and saw scattered fish that troller love to see. Scattered fish 6-10 feet. Caught some sniping and they were 11-12 inch fish. Got my biggest today 6 foot deep. 14 3/4 inch. JetJockey got a good one too, forgot the exact measurement. We ended up with 55. Didn’t keep any but sure we had over 30, 10 inches or better. Good job! Theyve been starting to stage up and scatter in the back of the creek in front of my house for about a month now. I don't troll anymore but it's definitely what you like to see if you do. Wolf packs of 1-8 fish scattered in small schools of bait.

The better fish are definitely in smaller groups. Scattering is fun for Snipers too. I’d rather catch 20 sniping than 100 trolling. Seeing,Casting,Thump and Landing makes my heart go THUMP THUMP THUMP!! May do a little trolling with my wife. Last year I was sniping in a group of troller, I was easing around trying to stay out of their way. I stopped moving and just Spotlocked, was amazed how many fish the trollers moved that came to me sitting still. It would be interesting to see if they move that much if there wasn’t any boat traffic. Don’t think I’m patient enough to find out. ??

Ive noticed a fair amount of times this winter when I'm spotlocked (windy, aluminum high sided boat blowing around) in range of a fish I'm working, I'll pan around after I catch, or give up on said fish, that there will be a fish or two sneak in towards me. I can't tell you how many times I've been working a fish 25-30ft away, and give up or catch it, and pan before moving to find the next fish, and there will be one under the boat or 5ft away. Yet let me spot a good one and try to ease up on it, and it keeps swimming away lol
