Winter used to be my favorite because of less crowds but not such thing as having the lake to yourself anymore. Spring is my least favorite time anymore to fish

I live for the spawn. I’ve been able to get on fish early the past few years and have the skinny water to myself.
Some will go shallow after a rain while many are still suspended in more open water. I don’t show or tell about my catches until my freezer is full .

IMO, Feb is the month to catch your PB. Water dips in upper 30's, shad flutters and struggles slowly in cold water which brings big roamers out in open water. Crappie gorge on it. Fat bellies, Pre Spawn its where its at in my book.

Water to yourself? Heck, it seems like spring
break every day all year long here in the diamond lakes area. Just gotta have mindset that lots more folks are fishing and $3 gallon gas ain’t slowing down anybody.
