Ouch! That kind of damage just hurts your feelings and your wallet.
Maybe your good attitude will be rewarded with a limit on every trip the rest of this year.

I feel for ya,,,been there done that myself to my Nat, Team Skeeter boat when I fished bass tourneys…hit a submerged rockwall running just on plane about 60 mph ,,,trashed the motor and all but ripped the transom off…about 15 grand back in the early 80’s. Skeeter rebuilt the boat for me as it was one of their National Team Boats and had to install a new Merc 150 as back then the limit on motor size for Nat. bass tourney's was 150 hp motors. Insurance paid for it.

Drove to Cincinnati today and picked up my new lower unit.
4 hour round trip but I should be up and going tomorrow.
Bought prop seals and a couple misc items including a new prop.
Stainless prop is getting repaired but I have several here at the house.
Done with sauger fishing for awhile because the river is running wild and very high.
At least I’ll be ready for fishing when the water gets right.
I’ll start tearing down the old lower unit and see if I can repair it soon.

They will but I just went ahead and bought a new lower unit.
    Factory Honda.
I’ll rebuild the old one for a spare.

Sounds like you’ve got a project to work on. Glad you were able to get lower unit and parts for repairs. Good luck.

Buddy had about the same experience a few years ago.
    Hit something running about 70.
    Knocked entire motor off transom.
Big Mercury in the bottom of river.
It was in an area we call the shoot and 30 yards off the bank in 15 ft of water. We dove for it the same day and never found it.
He and his son got banged up with some broken ribs.
    Bad day for sure.

we used to see boats every trip tied to trees at lake fork when they opened it back some 45 years or so ago , all of them were minus the motor and the transom .
the boat lanes were very much unmarked back then and it was just a flooded giant thicket of big oak trees , sure was a dangerous place to take your boat back then .
having been speared hard at just on plane one time makes one really appreciate the impact of hitting something hard going fast .
it is no wonder our new boat law is so heavily enforced about wearing your kill switch .
