Weedguards should really be called brush guards, being weedless is pretty much impossible. Around brush and timber the guards work pretty good, they may work in some stifer weeds and other vegetation.

Have not tried them but they look like they could be helpful around brush. My dad always said that if you are not getting hung up you are fishing in the wrong place. It is aggravating though.
