Are you mechanically inclined at all or nah? I ask because I was able to get the factory service manual for my Johnson 90HP online and then use Crowley Marine online to find all of the correct parts I need. I came to find that the local boat mechanics were hit or miss for me, but I am almost anal-retentive with using factory parts and specs for everything. The most competent guy I talked to was at The BoatHouse in Athens, AL, and at Lawrenceburg Marine in TN.

According to where you live in North Alabama. There is an older feller in West Point that is great and he’s pretty cheap. usually had the parts around his place to fix the older motors if anything is wrong with them. He’s worked on all of my boat motors throughout the years. Yamaha 250, Mercury Optimax 150, Nissan 90, Mariner 65, Mercury classic 50.
Ernie Freeman is his name 256 636 2808.

I definitely miss Delores at the Boat House. Next time your up in Lawrenceburg try to stop in Square Forty restaurant. It's worth the trip.
