    Default A few perch

Went out this afternoon for a few hours, caught a dozen or so good perch, lost a nice rainbow at hole when it got the line wrapped around the transducer cable. Usually the crappie show up for the last hour of light but not tonight.

Good trip, that is a chunky jumbo!
Did you find them shallow or deep? I want to do more C&R but can't find them shallow enough.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

They’re still deep here, like 35’ so I keep them. Later on I start to catch them in weeds when I’m fishing crappie shallow.

Nice perch! Our ice fishing in West Michigan has been horrible so far. I wish you continued success.

They don't get that bog down this way. They are some fine eating critters as well

Man I miss yellow perch!!!! I used to fish South Bay on the southern end of Champlain back in my youth, used to be a good place for yellows and walleye. Not enough around here to speak of. Also not enough and to much ice to fish in my part of the world at the moment anyway.

I’ve fished there a few times, not many walleyes anymore, white crappie are what most folks fish for there now.
