The Global Fly Fisher site had an article on small woolly buggers. They can be deadly.

Since I’ve gone to the mini drop shot , I’ve started using some of my favorite flies , which are on fly hooks . Tied up some wooly worms this morning to give a try next sunny warm day .
I used a micro spider tied on a #10 Mustad 3366 with mini centipede legs .
Simple tie with chenille body with legs tied in up front and thread head .

I use the 1 inch Slider grubs on their jig head with the spinner (Charlie Bee). Cast them along the edge of a weed line and hang on!

These are what I call micro spiders and I fish them under float too. They are 1/100 oz × # 14's. They are balanced to hang horizontal under the float.Name: 20200525_174746.jpg

Best “live” bait — 3 spikes (maggots) on a #6 Owner Mosquito Hook

Best “artificial” bait — Berkley Gulp Alive 1 inch minnow on a #6 Owner Mosquito Hook

Both fished on 4 pound fluorocarbon using a standard down shot rig with just enough weight to maintain contact with the bottom.

Those are some beautiful ties, Tom. You just know they’re going to be successful.
