    Default Glue choice?

    I've been tying jigs pretty
with eyes. In the process, I've tried using different glues for the eyes to be secured to the jig head.
I've tried Gorilla instant glues...for those, the glue begins to dry in the tip. That makes it hard to squeeze out any glue. Other than that, the glue seems to hold the eyes on powder coat paint.

When I tried the Locktite instant glue, I was surprised at how easy it was to put a pinpoint drop onto the dimple on the head. This made the problem of having too much glue go away with a good control of how much glue and how much easier to get the glue dispensed. With Gorilla, and it being hard to get squeezed out, it invariably got onto my fingers. That makes a mess...so Locktite has now become my "go to" glue for eyes.
Anybody else have suggestions of favorites?

I skip glue and overcoat with UV resin. Some use epoxies.
Maybe they will bite this one……

Gorilla glue clear or a 2 part epoxy is what you want. BSI 30 minute epoxy is what I use. If you are clear coating with KBS or a UV resin you can get away without a glue.

I actually did that one time, but the difference then was I had been only flattening the round ball head with a standard pair of pliers. When powdercoat was done, it was apparently so slick the eye wasn't getting stuck to the powdercoat.
Now, since I've got a dimpled spot formed by my grommet pliers, just applying UV over the eye may work since the dimple is keeping the eye edge in a below surface position.

Possibly, the Gorilla clear was one I tried that was referred to being a craft glue? I got a tube of it, and it put a good clear coat, but it was soft. Not a wet soft, that wasn't dried, but was soft when it was dried and after an 8-hour set time to being dried. It also put a very thick coating on the head....
I discontinued using it. It wasn't what I was after for appearance.
As you may have noticed, what I'm trying to do is make my jigs appear to be like a hard bodied lure, with soft tail action using the various bucktail, flashabou materials in different colors.

Yeah I don’t know. The gorilla glue clear I used is hard when dried. Can’t pop an eye off. I have covered the whole head but you’ll need to let dry for a couple 2-3 days.

I use to use Loctite gel but it had a problem with it getting hard in the bottle tip. I know use Sally Hanson and I have been very happy with it. It's cheaper also.

Sally Hanson clear works well. I also use the loon products a lot.
