    Default Christmas Eve crappies

Spent the day on the lake as we don’t get to boat fish this late in the year very often. Had a pretty good day too. Kept a limit out of over 60 fish caught. Crappie gills catfish and bass were caught. At one spot twenty straight casts produced fish. Didn’t use livescope either. Just a jig and bobber. Merry Christmas everybody.

Congrats on the day of fishing, and a nice bunch of fish. And here I thought you had put the boat away. Mind you, Chaunc launched with the lake being over 9 feet below summer pool. Which launch did you use.

I launched at Mahaney ramp. Still plenty of ramp left. Headed out this morning to see if I can do that again. Hope everyone had a great Christmas Day. Wishing you a prosperous new year.

This weather is amazing. 44* and light wind makes for some good fishing weather here in NW Pennsylvania for this time of year. This is the latest I’ve boat fished in my 70 years of life. The 3 days I’ve fished since Christmas Eve have been good. Average catch per day is well into the fifties. Lots of catch and release goin on but still keeping some for fishfry. Today was the big fish day. 14 keepers over 11”s. Itty bit slab hunters ruled the day. Fished below a bobber, four feet, in eight foot water. Every color I used caught fish too. Hope to get another day in before the cold spell gets here. Thursday looks promising.
