    Default Low water

I'm new so if I posted this in the wrong place sorry guys.
Also new to crappie fishing but fired up so have a lot of questions.

Coast Carolina our water is down a lot from what it usually is. Almost two foot. Usually we are tide fed no matter whats going on our water stays the same. Wind can make a difference but its really low in the past two weeks for some reason.
I bream fish a lot know the minnows can't get up in the edges and cover when the water is down and off the bank but been fishing hard with my new friend the past two weeks . She has two live scopes on her tritoon was my first time using them, but we tried minnows without much luck for a week and a half switched to the shinny hinny jig after two weeks BAMB We're catching fish.
1.Does the low water where it runs the minnows in the middle or deeper water and them having the food supply right at them make a difference where they are hitting jigs better than live??
    2. Little bit of info yesterday someone told me Crappie are always looking up. If you put the bait under them they will never see it. ????
    3. Does the colored line I see a lot on videos and advertisements make a difference in the catch.? I'm use to fresh and salt. We really try and hide the line with fluorocarbons and line that is said to not be seen by fish. Starting to wonder if that is a sales pitch. LOL People that run the bait and tackle store pro crappie fish everything they use is the lime green. Just different from what I've been use to.
    4. On white perch I use a little piece of worm on the hook. Really improves the bite. Do you guys add a little pinch of shrimp or worm to the hook. Know about crappie bits she showed me those but they didn't smell like anything, LOL Yesterday was the first time we really got into them along with me watching them bit on the live scope time after time. Rain was coming I really didn't want to leave but had to.
    5. Action. Been on youtube for hours in the last two weeks, most say don't move the jig much but seems to me the more I moved it the more they wanted it on the life scope. When I let it sit they would just sit there and look at it. Help me out on this one especially please.
    .
With you all into crappie a long time the reply's will at least make me feel more comfortable with what views I have so far .
    Thanks.

Are some of my favorite YouTube resources.

Whether it should be still or moving depends on what the fish want.

I am no expert on crappie, and I am basically just learning the fine points of this challenge from my experience so far, I will say that the high vis line does not affect catching anything. I use Mr. Crappie 4lb and I have caught most of everything on it. Yes, crappie feed up, the bait should be for the most part a little above them. Finding that location is the challenge. Of course, I think there will be exceptions depending on time of year and other conditions. Oh, and don't forget the slabsause! it does help! Hopefully the people with a greater degree of knowledge here will help more. Have fun!

As for the lure catching fish when minnows didn't. Could be a simple as the jig was something different that triggered a strike. Coulr have been the different movement of the jig that made it stand out.
As for the highvis line. I use a bright yellow braid. The fish don't seem to mind at all. Name: rs.jpg

Here is my opinion your questions. 1.. I can't really help you with because I pretty much only use jigs . Question 2. crappie will go down after your bait But if there is a school of fish and your are fishing below them and catch 1 it will spook the other fish. Question 3. This is the one that a lot of people is going to disagree with me on but here is goes. I fish a clear lake and I have tried high vis line and I will NEVER use it again. I catch 10 to 1 fish on a clear line than i did on a high vis line. With that being said I know guys that won't use nothing else but high vis line..Question 4. I only use slabanator scented slab sticks and it does make a difference. Question 5. I think movement is key a lot of the time. I either let it swim by them or if i am fishing straight down i will usually raise it . I don't pop it but move it pretty quick. But the fish will let you know how they want it....

    Thank you.
You can buy Slab Sauce as well as G-Sauce from the store here. I personally prefer the eye dropper bottles. Both work and some days they prefer the garlic version over the regular. Garlic version makes me hungry for Italian food though…lol.

I have yet to try the garlic. I guess it would help to keep vampire fish away also!
