Down it I went , traveled a while , wildlife was abundant , large crappie not so much .
Scenery was really nice and the food was past stupid good a mile or 2 as well .
fish had the feel of ice and the north wind was a howling as the front rolled in .
you would think they would have been in the deep water in a smaller pond , but not was the case .
only one decent fish in the mix and the rest were assorted sunfish and small black crappie .
wanted it moving along pretty fast for winter fish ,was pretty strange to say the least .
we couldn't ketch diddly till i got desperate and put a float on and went shallow .
the more it sat still the less it got bit , if it was getting drug along pretty good they would chase it down !
watched several follow it right to the shore ?
were holding around some sort of water vegetation in around 4 to 5 foot or less of water .
wish we had some of the big fish that live there to show off , but it was not in the cards .
wind laid down some the longer we stayed and we hit it from 1 to 3 pm .
the good news was we did get to ketch quite a few .
thanks for riding along with us , good times for sure .

them fellas have the art of burning food on an open fire pit down to an art .
the have it set up to do it right and when the meet and onions and peppers get ready , they got some attachments they put on the inside that look like heavy metal pans that hold the meat , while preppers stay in a bag to keep them warm and then fire torch the tortillas .
it makes for a situation where you can over eat without realizing it pretty easily . 3 of us ate all that in a pretty quick fasion , just saying![]()

It doesn't look like you were in the Trinity River bottoms for that trip, looks like some really pretty country though. Thanks for sharing the trip.
