Default the woods and the waters

Hit our place in the country for a hunt or 2 , then hit the water for a fish or 2 on the way back in to town.
The hunts went well and saw a few animals , the ketchn of fish went well to . The movement on the deer was a bit slow and only saw 5 bucks and 4 does in 2 hunts , the coyotes were also active and I saw a rather large boar hog .
Only controlled the coyotes a bit and never heard another shot fired .
Stopped by Buddy's place and hit the dock on his lake and managed around 25 crappie and 3 bass in an hour and home I went .
His crappie are in winter mode there and were deep and thumping ,used the same chart jig and took about 15 of the "cull" fish back to town for donation to the less fortunate .
Below are few photos of said events , hope you enjoy and YES ....

not a bad 24 hours for sure my friend ,all alone and doing as I pleased without any help was pretty nice ,
it was long drag with the coyote though , got to be a bit heavy by the time I got it to the truck .

I saw a nice buck in my backyard yesterday. It was a sunny beautiful day and he was frolicing. I saw him get on his hinds and rattle his antleers into some limbs hanging down. Scent marking. I need to start keeping the rifle by the back door.
Maybe they will bite this one……

he would have been a serious problem to move for me all alone at any age in my life,
gave that a thought as he closed in on me before he left hastily turned tail and left,
thought best make sure he is within a 100 foot rope length of a place my truck will get to for sure .
