I departed the ramp before first light on the cool Saturday the 13th morning. On the way out of the shallow inlet to the ramp to the main channel I saw a green eye glowing at the waters surface. I was thinking duck. To my surprise it was a coon. Only thing sticking out of the water was it's head. Guess the little critter was swimming across to the island. I gave it a wide berth not wanting a wet and wild raccoon chasing me off the boat. Took me a little while to put a fish on the boat and evict the skunk. No large numbers caught but only 2 dinks. The 13th fish was 13 inches long on the 13th day of the month. I decided to call it quites after I snapped a photo and release this fish. I went home with 10 fish for tomorrow night's supper.

Why they came up with the name "Fishin'" right. I trained a newbie all afternoon today, he did well but you caught many more eaters than we. You're still living well my friend.

Told the Inlaws I would feed them. So I kept a few for the table. I will hit a different part of the lake and see what it yields after the sun comes up to knock some of the chill off.
