    @bwilso :I used GE and scoped it out online pretty well, as well as the ramp on the north side of river, but any advice from a local is very welcome. I know Randy says the ramp can get muddy and slick sometimes (I have 4WD truck), I presume he is talking about that ramp. My boat isn't that big, it is a 1756 Alweld CC mod-v w/50 Yam, but very capable for what it is. I have not launched/recovered in current much.

    Usually the ramp is not slick. I have busted my butt before but it is a very good ramp. Your truck will easily load and unload. There is no current at ramp. It is in a protected basin that Randy calls "The Bay". The bay is also full of fish. you will not find current until you pass the lock wall. The deadlock area has no current at all. You will find fish all over this area. You cannot go wrong.
