    I think what Bob was trying to say was .... if I can't see it, I can't tie a knot with it, so it has to be hi-viz line so he can see to tie a knot in it, not that he didn't want to have to tie a leader to it.

    A lot of people will probably not like or disagree with this statement but I have had it proven to me several times. If you just wait for the thump you are missing a lot of fish and I mean a lot. But I also realize it is very hard to change something you (we) have been doing for years.

    Some day I may have my mind changed,but to this point I use only low visibility 4lb test even though huge catfish and bass are frequent insidental catch. Ideal for crappie, and good fish fighting practice with the insidental catch.

    True, many times when asked,how did you know that was a fish, I am unable to answer truthfully.
