You have come a long way in 8-9 months sir.
Sometimes a person can over think things. I’ve done that myself.
In 32 years of training during my career I heard instructors say many times. KISS……..Keep it simple stupid…
A lot of times they were right.
Congratulations on a great catch.
What is the water temperature down your way. Still in the low 70’s here in Indiana but is cooling down as the days get shorter.
I’m getting after them in the morning.

He will get a bite . The German Shepherd's name is LadyBug. She transforms into Last Bite LadyBug anytime there is food involved. Plus they have an assortment of treats. They are well fed and very spoiled.

We are still somewhere in the 80’s and I don’t know how low the temps will actually go over Winter. We are still four months out from needing to wear long pants and wind breakers. In Central Florida it doesn’t get cold until late Jan and early Feb. We get a few days of cold and then it goes right back to nice. They call them Wrap & Peel days. Start with a light weight jacket and a heavy shirt, and by noon you are in short sleeves again. I am telling you things can get pretty rough down here during our extremely harsh Winters. Brrrrrrrrr cold.

I used to live near Washington DC and it was difficult to sit inside and wait months on end to go fishing again. I would imagine all the things I was going to do that year and such but that really didn’t help me much. April was a long long time away when everything is gray, bleak and frozen. I left because of their traffic issues up there and discovered all the things I had been missing out on. In fact, the biggest thing I miss about that area was turning on the tap and having cold water come out. We get warm water here so I keep jugs in the fridge. I can only imagine what Winters in Indiana are like. We used to say a man can steal your wife, steal your money, but if he stole your firewood he would have to die.

It has been quite the adventure discovering what makes these little fish tick. Obviously I still have tons to learn, but I am over the hump so to speak. I had a friend offer to take me fishing so he could show me how to get me some of these fine fish. I think I will ride on his boat and watch and try to learn what he does and see if I can adapt some of his stuff. All fishermen should -Observe & Adapt. Those two skills will serve them best. Even the dumbest person I have ever met knew things I did not. It is a crazy world.

The boat has been a project for me, as your has been for you. My lakes are so shallow I see no need to invest in expensive sonars. I do however want a trolling motor that keeps the boat pointing in the same direction, even when i step away from it. My hand steer model has a mind of it’s own. It will stay straight until I step away. Then it starts doing turns and such. I suspect my weight moving around on the hull shape is turning the boat, but I like to blame the TM. Three grand is quite the commitment though, so it will have to wait.

I have a Bay Boat style thingie and sit up front to steer. I have all 8 rods up there with me. I have figured out an alignment that works provided there are no high winds to contend with. I can add four more rods if I wanted to, by placing those in the back of the boat. I imagine the boat setup will change by this time next year as I come up with new ideas to try. Once I get the remote steering I might switch everything to the back of the boat. I mounted heavy plastic to the boat deck and move rod mounts around on that instead of drilling holes in the aluminum everywhere. That allowed me to work out my issues.

You redid your boat, as I read here. Hope everything was what you thought it would be. If it wasn’t you will have some time to affect changes. Probably a lot of fun to fool around with the boat, inside the garage, as the doors slam around due to howling Winter winds. I would be tempted to go out and just sit in the boat and dream some. Hope you do well today.

I have a schnauzer and they are not supposed to get snacks as they develop pancreatic issues and die. He gets very little in that regard. I would like to share some steak, or burgers, or such but kindness will kill him best. He is 10 years old now and doing well. His favorite thing is to ride in Daddy’s truck. He naps while I shop when the weather is nice. I sneak up and peer inside to see, and there he is out cold. Funny little critter as he waits at the gate for me to come home. I like that. Makes me think the boy misses me. He does like a routine and has a few well practiced. The big one is patrolling the yard. Every evening at Sundown he makes a large navigation around the perimeter of the fencing. Checking for interlopers, or laying down scent to discourage intruders, I will never know.

Shame so many never discover the joy a great dog can bring to life.

They get very little I need to limit that as well

My Pug Lily was the dearest dog I ever had, she wanted to be with "daddy" at all times.
At 14 she was blind and deaf and for her sake I had her put down 3 years ago.
I miss my "Baby Girl".
