all stonework with stained glass windows and just pretty ,,,,says its the "cactus rose " on front
thought it was maybe a food place , he said no ,made that for my wife to "quilt" in with her friends
they do lots of needlework and knitting .....

from ground level it is STUPID nice ! rangers all over the place like tonka toys ....
multiple lakes and one looks rather large and remote.
there is a really nice "5 acre food plot" with a huge feeder in the middle of it all fenced off ,right in the middle of the place in the thick woods !
dialed up top notch to say the least if you like the Texas outdoors

Looking forward to the next chapter, Ketch! Should be a good one. With a spread like that I’m sure it is well patrolled.

I agree with Bob. Either patrolled, or patrolled and a very sophisticated camera system...

have not seen evidence of cameras or big mean dogs and never seen a locked gate , they live there though and there is always a bunch of ranger traffic and truck traffic and coming and going.
he is a strong Christian fella with old school rules and very talkative , even more so than me and those that know me, know I chatter lots
mind you this , his crew of family and such are lots more sophisticated with technology and some may run some security systems out there that are unseen . it is quite probably something like "hey buddy ,there is a fella fishing in your lake " in a phone call when I show up .

A bit over an hour to get there on the pavement and, one short gravel road that was well maintained .
Visited with his team on the new "tool box" packaging a good while .
He got a bit pushy with me to hurry up and told me I needed to go "fishing".
Being he is my customer and ...
Being a guest too ,who was I to Argue that point right ?
So off I went to the dock a little later than he suggested was the hot bite .
First drop until I got tired of it ,bit EVERY DROP !
Not much for really large fish but they made up for it in numbers !
He eventually joined me for about 20 minutes right before I left .
We chatted in depth about his lake . Seems it was built in 1977 ,25 feet maximum water depth . Didn't really divulge what it actually cost to build .
Looks at first glance like he needs help ketchn fish in numbers out of it to me .
Around 9 to 11 inch ruled the roost with only one around 14 inches and some in the 12 inch range . The age class in the 10 inch range needs removal . around 75 crappie for me and a dozen for him. I hit it a bit over an hour .
Tells me about the other lake on the other side of the mountain . Says he only hit a few times in 25 years . He goes on to tell me about 2 crappie out of the big lake that were 4 POUNDS each !
Said he released both of them and next one out goes on the wall .
I did hook a larger fish at one point that managed to bend out my hook on a run away from the dock .
Asked why I didn't keep any ? I said no ice , he said there are two commercial grade ice machines inside the pavilion !
He invited me to go inside the pavilion before I left to use the restroom . Left me there to gawk I suppose , the walls were lined with animals ,birds and fish , with a nice gathering of old firearms in one area .
I got a few photos and down the road I went ....
this story aint near over with my friends ...
    stay tuned ....
    Very interesting story my friend.
