almost all of my rods are two piece except for a couple of UL ones that are shorter anyway. Don't really see a lack of sensitivity and sure don't break off the tips like you do one piece as often.

Rod technology had come a long way no matter how many pieces it has

With super ultralight rods, with 2-piece, you are much less likely to break a tip section inserting it into a rod box versus a 1-piece rod. Also, shipping cost is much less with 2-piece. If you buy a rod overseas, pretty much everything is 2-piece due to shipping cost.

Got eat up on shipping cost last month. Bought a 6 foot 1 piece rod. Came in an 8 foot tube.

I have mostly 2 piece rods. I take a silver sharpie and mark a small line where the pieces join together so I know everything is lined up when I put them back together

I can’t remember the last time I had to do that, and it was one of my fly rods.

The "old timers", which I guess I am one now by passing this along, used to rub the male ferrule across the exterior of their nose to get a little oil on before assenbly.
