The client took the fish with him so I have to assume it was dressed or mounted. The other guy is a taxidermist.
I have a philosophy about weighing client fish. I never offer to. If that client thinks that fish weighs X amount, that’s what it weighs. I keep a pair of Rapala tournament scales in the boat for tournaments. If he goes home and tells his buddies it weighed X amount, that’s what matters. I can always say I didn’t weigh the fish, which I didn’t, if somebody asks me. I see nothing dishonest in that and the client isn’t unhappy if it didn’t weigh what he/she thought.
