Well ... the "heat" didn't bother me all that much, once I got under the umbrellaBUT, I had thrown my UV Blocker sleeves in the laundry basket and thought I had another pair in my tackle bag ... but when I went to put them on, I found out it wasn't sleeves but the face shield UV blocker thingy.
SO, by the time it had gotten hot enough for me to put up the umbrella, my arms were already sunburnt. Also realized I didn't have my 100SPF sunscreen in my bag, either. I have since rectified both of those errors !!
I've already had about a dozen squamous cell carcinoma spots on my arms removed by cryosurgery, so boonie hat + UV Blocker sleeves + Glacier Gloves have taken the place of ball cap + SPF 30 sunscreen when I'm on the lake. The umbrella setup is a last resort, as it's a bit cumbersome to deal with, plus it does act a bit like a "sail" when conditions are windy.
And if you were referring to our "productivity" ... we brought home two 11" male White Crappie & 3 Channel Cats. We probably threw back about 15 dinks. We also landed a couple Hybrids, and a couple of small Bass (<10") but only 1 Green Sunfish (which was surprising) .... unlike last week, when we caught about as many Green Sunfish as we did Crappie !! We caught the cats right against the bank, possibly raiding Crappie nests... but, I do know I saw at least 7 or 8 large cats on the Livescope, usually in the general area of schooled up Crappie on trees/brush out in deeper water. But, neither they or the Crappie were much interested in my jig.
